Botanical Gardens

While the big kiddo was on a "hunting trip" at the Botanical Gardens, the small kiddos were running after birds and swans! Their sweaty faces says it all ...

Kristin's first year

Ok, although Kristin will be turning 2 in August this year, here are some of my favourite photos showing how Kristin has grown in her first year ... how she has change!! It is really amazing when you look back. Time flies and soon I will have to start working on another slideshow for her second year!

Dr Dolittle goes Chinese

Traditional Chinese Medicine at least. Saw an interesting feature on the news yesterday - vets at the Singapore zoo have been using TCM to treat some of the animals, including Boling (for a pic of him, see blog post "Daniel's 4th birthday - part/y 2", May12'07) for guttural lumps.

Other TCM treated animals include :
- giraffe for a chest infection
- komodo dragon for a neurological disorder
- elephant for foreleg injuries
- orang utan (Ah Meng) for constipation
- python for swollen lips
and about 50 other animal species.

According to the vet, Dr Oh SH, he said "The secret to TCM's success lies in its more holistic process. While Western medicine largely addresses the symptoms, TCM goes to the source of the problem". However, Western medicine will remain the first line of treatment for the animals for now. (ST, May18'07) Hey, if it's so great - why not make TCM the first line of treatment?

Then we'd have to go into the Western vs TCM arguments on humans too ....

Daniel's 4th birthday - part/y 2

On the actual day of his birthday, he had another party! This time at the KFC in the Singapore Zoo Children's World / Playland. Ordered another Cars cake but this time from Smiling Orchid.

Daniel's 4th birthday - part/y 1

Part 1 of mummy's lovingly planned birthday celebration, was a party at Daniel's school. He requested for a Cars birthday cake which mummy designed then ordered from Sweet Secrets. Menu consisted of nuggets, prawn balls, mini sausages, Pringles chips and Ribena - all his favourite food. Kristin was more than a willing assistant and enjoyed the party as much as him.

'tis the Birthday month

Today was hubby's birthday. Poor guy was working till late so couldn't have much of a dinner. There goes my dinner reservations and plans to watch a movie ! (Yes, with 2 kiddos it gets a little difficult for the big kiddos to go to a cinema, although hubby would argue its more because of the cost$$$) Being the simple man hubby is, we settled for dinner at Happy Valley Hong Kong Cafe nearby his workplace - DON'T EVER GO THERE ! We both had diarrhea the next day :-(

Finally ...

Yes, I've finally succumbed ... Now that I no longer have the excuse of not having enough free time to start and maintain a blog, I tot it opportune to finally start one. Of course, the fact that online photosharing gallery such as kodakgallery can be limited and slow for those without broadband connections, persuaded me to start blogging.

So, the world welcomes yet another blogger !
